Deltec will launch the RS Cleaning System next month. It is a new cleaning system for their skimmer cups. It is motor-driven, but not fully automatic. The new system is also smaller.
At NordRiff, Deltec is presenting the new RS Cleaning System. Designed for the Deltec 600i and 1000i, it features the same signature scraper for cleaning the skimmer cup. The difference from Deltec’s existing cleaning systems lies—aside from the size—primarily in the drive mechanism.
It doesn’t operate fully automatically like the Deltec Cleaning System CS 2000 or CS 1655, nor is it fully manual like the CSM series. The new system does, however, use a motor, but it is always running. This means that the skimmer cup is constantly being cleaned. That might be a bit excessive, so it’s recommended to use a timer in combination with the RS Cleaning System.
So why this system? Well, Deltec wants to invest in a product that is less expensive than the fully automatic CS series, yet offers the convenience of automatic cleaning. It also makes it possible to equip the smaller Deltec skimmers with a skimmer cup cleaning system. In the future, the system may also be available for the Deltec 1500i skimmer.
According to CEO Jan Erik Nels, the system is “likely to be available next month.” The price will be around 250 EUR.
