During our NordRiff tour, we spotted a new dosing pump. It’s a prototype from Tunze. The product isn’t ready for the market yet, but they’re working on it full steam ahead.
Tunze hopes to use the dosing pump to further develop its own ecosystem. The goal is to “create something that people will buy after their Red Sea product fails,” according to the Tunze representative at the NordRiff trade show. This immediately sets the tone and establishes the level of ambition.
The prototype uses a Kamoer KK360 pump head and the motor from the Tunze Orka. The pump works with various hoses, thick or thin. No special connectors are required. The unit is waterproof for short periods of time.
Using stainless steel for the connection between the motor and the shaft ensures durability. Tunze is reportedly aiming for a launch sometime next year. The price is expected to be around 400 EUR. A less expensive version may be launched at a later date.
Algae Scraper
Tunze also mentions in passing that a new version of the Tunze Magnet Scraper will be released in October or November 2026. The algae scraper will feature a new system for holding the (acrylic or steel) blade and will be available in different magnet strengths. The price is 70 EUR.
