The DROP 2.6 Drop-In Scrubber is the latest product from the American company Santa Monica Filtration. The new unit is a smaller version of the existing DROP 3.4 Scrubber.
Santa Monica Filtration announced this week that it is releasing the DROP 2.6. The unit is available immediately. Like its larger counterpart, the Green Grabber, the scrubber features surfaces that allow algae to grow well inside the unit. Thanks to a 660 nm LED lamp, algae growth is maximized to remove contaminants from the water.
An air pump, which must be purchased separately, circulates air bubbles through the device, causing the water to circulate and giving the algae a growth boost. Thanks to the device’s shape, the air bubbles remain inside without detracting from the appearance of the display aquarium.
The DROP 2.6 costs 450 USD (388 EUR) and is suitable for both fresh and saltwater.
