The German company The Silent Wave will launch an improved version of its Rotor Tilt next year. This is a rotating unit that can automatically tilt various flow pumps to create improved random water flow in the aquarium.
At the NordRiff trade show, The Silent Wave is presenting the new “Dreheinheit,” or rotation unit. The new device is a further development of the existing Rotor Tilt. The main difference lies in the addition of movement along the transverse axis. By combining X- and Z-axis movement, The Silent Wave achieves improved flow. This is achieved by adding an extra motor and sensor, and new ball bearings.
What’s interesting is that the Rotor Tilt is universally compatible thanks to the many customizable pump mounts that are available separately. Both users of the classic Tunze pumps and those with the newer AI Nero flow pumps, for example, can use the device. Just like the existing version, a free Wi-Fi-enabled app that is available on both iOS and Android controls the new rotation unit.
The Silent Wave uses 3D printing to manufacture its products. The company is based near Stuttgart and was founded three years ago. The new rotation unit will be available early next year for 400 EUR. The current unit will remain available for 184.99 EUR. Pump holders are sold separately for 9.99–39.99 EUR.
