While European trade shows often focus on established names, the Asian market is shaking up the saltwater aquarium world with lightning-fast technological innovations. From November 12 through 15, 2026, the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou will be the absolute epicenter of the international aquarium industry. The China International Pet Show is celebrating its 30th edition, and for saltwater enthusiasts, this promises to be an incredibly interesting trade show.
For three decades, the trade show has been known as the place where both major and smaller brands showcase their latest aquarium technology to the Asian market. While the Western market often doesn’t get to see new gadgets until months later, they’re immediately on display on the trade show floor in Guangzhou.
The event attracts tens of thousands of professionals from more than 120 countries. In addition to the massive exhibition floor, the show features a full program that includes the CIPS Innovation Awards ceremony and numerous speakers who will outline the future of the industry. The trade show highlights the entire saltwater hobby, from smart automation and advanced water testing to hardware such as protein skimmers, dosing systems, and complete reef aquariums.
Asian Dominance
The scale of the event demonstrates the true production capacity and drive for innovation in the aquarium industry. With approximately 379 specialized aquarium exhibitors on the list, the trade show is by far the largest of its kind. By comparison, the most recent edition of Interzoo featured around 270 companies in the same category. This difference underscores that Guangzhou is the premier destination for discovering which equipment will soon be taking over our living rooms.
Many Asian manufacturers have now well and truly made the transition from budget alternatives to innovative market leaders. Brands such as Neptunian Cube, Red Starfish, Jebao, Hailea, Netlea, and Keloray are increasingly setting the standard in terms of value for money, automation, and sleek design.
In addition, established Western giants are also making a big splash in China. For example, during the trade show, Red Sea will be showcasing the REEF-FRAME concept, the updated REEFER G3+ aquarium line, the ReefControl control system, and its Reef Care solutions for coral care, among other products.
Looking to the Future
This anniversary edition will once again demonstrate that the marine aquarium hobby is becoming digitized and automated faster than ever. The powerful combination of leading Western brands and innovative Asian manufacturers will make Guangzhou, in November 2026, the place where the future of reef aquariums will definitively take shape.
