The Italian company Bio Engineering Aquaculture (BEA) is preparing to present two bacterial cultures at the AcquariaItalia trade show. The manufacturer will also showcase a new type of fish feed. The trade show will take place on September 19, 20, and 21 at Malpensa Fiere near Milan.
While the market for aquarium bacteria primarily offers general-purpose nitrifying cultures, BEA has chosen a different approach. Instead of a single universal product, the manufacturer is launching two niche products.
BEA Microbiome Lagoon is designed for areas with slow water flow, such as sandy substrates, porous rocks, bio media, the refugium, and the sump. The bacterial culture promotes the breakdown of fine debris and complex organic compounds and supports biofilm formation.
BEA Microbiome Cairns, on the other hand, focuses on oxygen-rich, well-lit reef areas with a constant current. The emphasis is on the biological maturation of hard surfaces and corals.
Both products complement each other. Aquarists can use them during the start-up phase, as well as to maintain microbial biodiversity in the long term.
New Food
In addition to its bacterial strains, BEA is launching a new type of fish feed. The product falls into a category between traditional dry feed, such as pellets, and frozen feed. BEA is positioning it as a minimally processed alternative to frozen products, with a focus on the organic quality of the raw materials.
BEA will announce the exact name, composition, storage instructions, and specific areas of application during the AcquariaItalia trade show.
